We are about 2 weeks behind normal on the big lake, but there are already some Walleyes showing up on the shorelines and reefs south of Oshkosh. The fish being caught are nice and plump with the abundant forage currently in the lake! There are also some good reports of nice Bluegills and a few Crappies showing up in the channels and shallow bays. If we can get a couple warm sunny days the Crappie bite should set on fire! Please feel free to leave a report here or on any of the other threads!

Fishing on Lake Winnebago has been slowly improving, but the current Lake Fly hatch may slow it down for a few days! There are reports of the bugs covering houses and vehicles along the lake from Fondulac to Menasha! If you don't mind some bugs, then get out on the reefs and catch some fish! The fish seem to be on certain areas right now, so fishing multiple areas seems to be the best approach to find some feeding Walleyes!

The Lake Flies are done hatching and the Walleyes are back on the reefs! The last few days has shown a strong bite along the west shore of the lake from Oshkosh northward to Menasha. Our best presentation has been drifting the reefs when the wind allows, taking different passes each time. The fish seem to be scattered one here and one there, so anchoring with slip bobbers has not been as effective for catching numbers of fish. Our best day over the weekend resulted in 25 Walleyes!

The west shore reefs continue to be the place to be if looking for some Walleye action on the lake! From Blackwolf to Menasha, the reefs are teaming with hungry Walleyes right now! Guys are catching them doing several different things, including trolling, drifting, jigging, casting crankbaits, and even slip bobbering. The 7 day forecast is showing more easterly winds, which means this bite should only improve! Get out on the water and put a few fish in the boat while the fish are cooperating!

The Perch fishing in the protected bays with safe ice continues to be good, my cousin and some friends brought home 75 Perch all between 8-11" yesterday in 11 fow. As for the main lake, this warm weather and high winds have kept most of the lake from freezing up. At this point I don't expect safe ice on the main lake for another two weeks or more!

As much as I am looking forward to this upcoming sturgeon season, I sure hope folks are going to be smart. We went out and found good ice on the east shore but forund that north of Quinney it has many more spots that are lousy. I wouldn't drive a truck on this ice right now.
Clarity is poor at best unless you are over hard bottom. 9.5 ft of clarity on a 8 in white disk was the best we could find. It was cloudy that day though so sun might help get another foot.
Good luck to all that go and be safe!!
Nice Site Lance!!
